Mission and vision

Mission

Design, build, and deploy an independent multi-platform execution bus decoupled from alpha generation, enforcing pre-trade risk gates, finite state machine order lifecycles, and continuous reconciliation across institutional venues and retail terminals.

Vision

A unified execution layer where quantitative trading engines decide WHAT to trade, and BIA strictly governs HOW to execute across any terminal or venue via standardized protocols, failing closed when risk or integrity checks are violated.

Description

BIA is Motor Canónico #12 of the VTAlgo ecosystem: the sovereign multi-platform execution engine and Model Context Protocol (MCP) bus.

Upstream quantitative engines (TALOS, AQUILES, POSEIDON, ARGOS, CARONTE, ANTEROS, HELIOS, CERBERO) generate research, signals, and investment vectors. BIA solves the last mile: transforming those abstract investment vectors into controlled, audited, physical market execution across multiple institutional venues and retail platforms without altering the underlying alpha hypotheses.

In this program, you engineer the complete sovereign execution stack from scratch. You build atomic pre-trade risk gates, a deterministic Finite State Machine (FSM) for order lifecycles, real-time two-way ledger position reconciliation, a compiled native Win32 C++ DLL Bridge for MultiCharts and TradeStation, and a universal MCP server that exposes typed execution tooling across platforms.

What you'll build

  • A sovereign execution bus that ingests investment vectors from TALOS, AQUILES, POSEIDON, ARGOS, CARONTE, and ANTEROS without alpha distortion
  • A compiled Win32 C++ DLL Native Bridge exporting thread-safe interfaces for MultiCharts (PowerLanguage) and TradeStation (EasyLanguage)
  • A Universal MCP (Model Context Protocol) server exposing typed execution tools and telemetry to AI agents and external engines
  • An atomic pre-trade risk engine enforcing notional limits, dynamic spread gates, slippage budgets, and emergency kill switches
  • A two-way position reconciliation daemon auditing local fills against live venue broker books to eliminate drift and orphan orders

Course content

Overview — open before you enroll Unlocks phase by phase as you progress
Module 1 — Sovereign Ingestion & Separation of Concerns 4 lessons · Engines decide WHAT, BIA decides HOW · Canonical Contracts
The Alpha–Execution boundary: why mixing strategy logic with execution ruins both
Ingesting Investment Vectors: contracts from TALOS, AQUILES, POSEIDON, ARGOS, CARONTE, ANTEROS
Immutable signal provenance: tracking parent trade IDs, timestamps, and lineage hashes
Fail-closed ingestion: blocking unverified, stale, or malformed investment vectors
Module 2 — Intent Normalization & Order Synthesis 4 lessons · Mapping abstract targets to physical venue parameters
Normalizing exposure delta, direction, urgency, and Time-In-Force (GTC, IOC, FOK)
Microstructure parameter mapping: lot steps, tick rounding, and minimum/maximum clip sizes
Synthetic leg decomposition: managing multi-leg spreads and cross-broker pairs
Algorithmic slicing: TWAP, VWAP, and liquidity-seeking order schedules
Module 3 — Pre-Trade Risk & Liquidity Gates 4 lessons · Atomic validation before outbound market routing
Atomic gating hierarchy: ALLOW, REDUCE, BLOCK, and global emergency HALT
Dynamic spread and volatility gates: rejecting fills during toxic order flow
Slippage budgeting: tracking expected vs observed arrival prices with hard stops
Multi-level Kill Switch: designing manual and automated tripwires across all active accounts
Module 4 — Deterministic Order Lifecycle (FSM) 4 lessons · Explicit state transitions without broker assumptions
The deterministic FSM: PENDING_NEW → ACKNOWLEDGED → PARTIALLY_FILLED → FILLED
Terminal state isolation: deterministic branches for REJECTED, EXPIRED, and CANCELLED
The replacement dance: why replacing working orders requires broker acknowledgments
Out-of-order execution reports: handling asynchronous race conditions across broker sockets
Module 5 — Continuous Two-Way Position Reconciliation 4 lessons · Internal virtual book vs live broker ledgers
The dual ledger: local virtual fill ledger vs broker account balance and live positions
Real-time drift detection: identifying execution discrepancies, mismatches, and margin shifts
Orphan order cleanup: sweeping disconnected orders following network partitions
Discrepancy containment: symbol-level freezing and automatic fail-closed position protection
Module 6 — Failure Engineering & Resiliency 4 lessons · Surviving disconnects, broker outages, and toxic venue drops
Network partition management: heartbeat monitors, adaptive backoffs, and reconnection sweeps
Idempotent submission: eliminating duplicate orders during transient transport drops
Recovery procedures: safe state restoration after system restarts or broker gateway panics
Audit trail logging: writing immutable trade forensics with zero overhead
Module 7 — Universal Model Context Protocol (MCP) Bus 4 lessons · Typed JSON-RPC tooling and agentic orchestration
MCP architecture: exposing execution tools, resources, and order streams over JSON-RPC
Standardized tool contracts: submit_order, cancel_order, get_positions, and reconcile_ledger
Server-Sent Events (SSE) and stream telemetry: pushing execution fills to AI agents and UI consoles
Language-agnostic interoperability: connecting Python, Rust, C#, and Go models into the MCP bus
Module 8 — Native C++ Bridges & Platform Adapters 4 lessons · Compiling Win32 DLLs and multi-platform adapters
Compiling the Win32 C++ DLL Bridge for MultiCharts (PowerLanguage) and TradeStation (EasyLanguage)
Memory safety and thread isolation: passing arrays and strings across native boundaries without leaks
Institutional platform adapters: cTrader (Open API), MetaTrader 5/4 (MQL5/Sockets), and NinjaTrader 8
Direct broker adapters: Sierra Chart (DTC), Interactive Brokers (TWS/Gateway), and Alpaca Markets
